NUFC Season 2010/2011 Review: Attack

Greetings.
Finally we reached the last section of Newcastle United review for players. Here is for the strikers.

Andrew Carroll - 11 goals
Appearances: PL 18(1), LC 0(1)
He is big, strong and powerful. For a people with his height, he has good feet. A season in the Championship has giving him much needed playing experience and he started to score regularly. He was handed the sacred jersey no.9 at the start of the season. A hattrick in the game against Aston Villa and good subsequent performances earned him England national team call up, which then he made debut against France. He is always proved to be handful for opposition defence. He managed to score 11 goals up to January.

His off field problems were a regular source of news for the media. This however does not affect his performances on the pitch. He managed to put his troubles aside especially in games against Arsenal away (he scored the winning goal) and West Ham away. However, his time at the club has proven to be short as he joined Liverpool on a £35 million transfer during the last day of January transfer window. This transfer has enraged the fans who questioned his loyalty and there were also claims of him being forced out from the club. His goals played a big role to ensure survival of Newcastle in the Premier League. Because the transfer was done on the last day of transfer window, Newcastle failed to find any replacement and the money received cannot be spent until summer. He however still need to prove himself to the Reds fans if he really worth 35 million.

Preview Kelayakan Olimpik: Malaysia vs Lubnan

Salam Sejahtera

NUFC Season 2010/2011 Review: Defence

Greetings.

Again this is on Newcastle United. This review will cover on defenders.
defence also win the game

Fabricio Coloccini - 2 goals

Appearances: PL 35, LC 1, FA 1
He looked good, apart from one or two blunders. A season in Coca Cola Championship has done wonders for him, helping him to adapt to EPL and to club which has been in crisis during 2008-2009 season. He was also one of the most consistent performers. Colo also bagged in important goals against Tottenham and Wigan. He got forward when he was needed and did not neglect his main task to protect the goal area. A low point for him is getting sent off after elbowing Bolton’s Johan Elmander in the 1-5 defeat.

NUFC Season 2010/2011 Review: Keepers

Greetings.

Hei Guys.Looks like it has been quite a long time since I last wrote a decent article for your reads. Thanks everyone for your support of this blog. This blog has celebrated its second official anniversary which falls on 11 June every year.

Today's topic is about the club named Newcastle United. I supported this team since I am in Primary school. There will be about 3-5 articles about Newcastle, to recap about the players performances and most exciting matches in the season which just ended. As a club promoted back to Premier League at the first attempt, a 12th place finish is quite good with some excellent results and a squad consist mainly of the same side that played in the Coca Cola Championship in the season 2009/2010.

Today we will look into the goalkeeping department. Here is my review.

Harper makes the save

Steve Harper

Appearances: PL 18
Always looked solid and made good saves to keep NUFC in matches. Injuries was a problem for Harper this season. His playing time may come to an end soon for the veteran stopper, with the emergence of younger talent Tim Krul and Fraser Forster. He still can play for another one or two seasons.
